Working with existing design elements, the goal was to create a cohesive design identity for this 30-room motel, with a clear concept and a strong sense of place.

Located near Auckland Airport, the design was inspired by the hues of Harakeke, rich olive green and ruby red set the tone, complemented by tapa cloth and custom flax woven art pieces that celebrate the local pacific island community.

A reminder that thoughtful design isn’t always about starting from scratch. It’s about seeing the potential in what’s already there and creating something distinctive with a story to tell.
